About Bob Chew

Bob Chew learned the value of hard work and resilience at a young age. He was just a high school senior, two months shy of graduation, when his father died. Devastated but determined, Bob eventually put himself through college, working 25–30 hours a week bussing tables and waiting on customers. 

Bob joined the Navy after his junior year and received his commission as an Ensign after graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in chemical engineering. Bob spent five years on active duty as a division officer aboard a nuclear attack submarine.

After leaving the Navy, Bob started a business in Wyoming, but the business failed. With a wife and two young daughters to support, Bob took a job in government services. He also joined the Navy Reserves and became an intelligence officer with top-secret clearance.

In 1996, Bob and his wife founded a second business, providing engineering and technical services to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing facilities. The company became known for its high standards and commitment to its customers.

Bob was devoted to his employees, ensuring they received generous retirement contributions and health insurance. After 12 years, Bob sold the business to his employees, giving them the opportunity to build long-term financial security through ownership. Many are now comfortably retired. Today, the company has more than 700 employees with $150 million in revenue.

In 2017, Bob moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he is very active in his local Episcopal church and supports a local charity to help families facing housing difficulties. Bob stepped down as CEO in 2022 and continued as the company’s board chair.

When he ran his company, Bob was passionate about creating good jobs for his employees and security for their families. Now he is passionate about creating opportunities for Coloradans, restoring the American Dream for all citizens, taming the dysfunction in Washington, and fixing the long-term fiscal time bombs that threaten our prosperity.
