Why Vote Independent

The current political system is not working for the American people.

Democrats and Republicans spend more time attacking each other than solving the problems facing our country. In Washington, politicians are rewarded for creating outrage, hoarding power, and feeding division. The party bosses win. The lobbyists win. The special interests win.

The American people lose.

For too long, Americans have been trapped in a broken two-party system that has turned our government into a circus and our politics into a never-ending food fight. Every election, we are told to fear the “other side” more than we demand results from our own leaders.

Enough.

Now is our chance to strike a blow against the corrupt political duopoly that has failed the people of Colorado and the nation.

An Independent vote is a vote to reject the fear-mongering and manipulation coming from both parties. It is a vote to reject the false choice between two broken political machines. It is a vote for leaders who are willing to think independently, tell the truth, and put people ahead of party.

Coloradans already understand this. More than half of our state’s voters are registered unaffiliated or with a third party — nearly two million people who have walked away from the Republican and Democratic establishments. Some lean left. Some lean right. But millions of us agree on one thing:

The system is broken, and we need a change.

And if independents stand together – alongside Republicans and Democrats who are fed up with the extremism and dysfunction – we can take our government back from the political insiders who profit from division.

In a closely divided Congress, even a handful of Independent senators and representatives could change the balance of power. The consistent party-line member has no power to push for changes. Independents who are not beholden to parties are the bridge that forces both parties toward compromise, common sense, and real problem-solving.

That is how we begin to break the gridlock.

That is how we restore accountability.

That is how we make government work for the people again.

As America approaches its 250th birthday, it is time to declare our independence once more — this time from the dysfunctional grip of the Democrat-Republican duopoly that has failed Colorado and the country alike.

The American Revolution began when ordinary people decided they had had enough.

Now it is our turn.

Let Colorado become the vote heard around the world.
